Initiated by the Got Heart Foundation along with Melissa Yeung, Jessica Tan, Christian Yap, Sara Sulit and Susan Yap Sulit, Got Heart Shop – Farmers Market – Art Gallery brings fresh Tarlac produce and products as well as handcrafted merchandises by other partner communities of the foundation to Metro Manila.

Just recently opened last November 11, 2012, the shop aims to provide a venue for farmers, local artists and producers to sell their products direct to the market. Since produce are bought direct, the farmers are given the fairest and best price for their products instead of the usual 2% of the market selling price usually offered to them by middle men.

From Tarlac to your kitchen

In partnership with a team courtesy of the Tarlac Provincial Government, harvests are consolidated and delivered daily to the shop so you are sure that every time you buy, you get only the freshest of ingredients for your kitchen.

They sell a variety of vegetables, root crops, salad greens, herbs and even edible flowers. Some of the products available are red oak, mizuna, grand rapid, emperor greens, parsley and chili.

Though a farmer’s market (meaning the produce available depends on the harvest), salads greens, mountain rice and root crops such as ginger and turmeric are always at hand. Edible flowers like papaya flower, blue ternate, cosmos, white and pink katuray are ordered at least a day ahead to avoid wilting.

The Got Heart Shop Team
