Biking Western Tarlac 2014

Biking Western Tarlac 2014

Biking Western Tarlac 2014 (BWT2014) is a fun 150 km bike and food tour in the western area of Tarlac. Participants include team and friends from LGC Bike Express and Tarlac Recreational Park who are willing to  take on the three days and two nights adventure challenge, biking through major and hidden tourist destinations in the province.

Biking Western Tarlac 4

Start point of BWT2014 is in Tarlac Provincial Capitol. The team will use Romulo Highway as the road passing through the town of Santa Ignacia. They will pass by the beautiful and well shaded roads covered by tall acacia trees. Wood furniture makers are found along the way. Furthermore, it is also the town where Wood Inspiration (Tarlac based company which makes crafts from bamboo and recycled wood) is found.

Lunch will follow in the rustic ruins of Camiling Church. The group will enjoy a dish prepared by Terrase Cafe and other Camiling dishes provided by Prado Builders Center, Inc. and the church community. After lunch, the group will head to Mayantoc, Tarlac’s summer capital. A fun overnight camping awaits in Nambalan River where the pavilion of COMEX-Tarlac is located.

The team can’t wait to experience glamping on a river side!

Come next day, the team will bike from Brgy. Nambalan, Mayantoc to Brgy. Iba, San Jose to join the fun of Paddling the Rapids of Tarlac. It’s the launching of white water kayaking season organized by Tarlac Ecotourism team. We will be joining them for lunch prepared by Rapid Stream and Mary Anne’s Kitchen in the vicinity of Ngile River

The bikers will then take on the challenge of going up Monasterio De Tarlac. With its steep roads, I hope you can cheer our riders to finish the ride.

The day will end with play time and camping in Tarlac Recreational Park (TRP).

Alas, the final day of the bike tour, aka Survival Day. From TRP, the goal is to be able to reach Capas National Shrine before lunch strikes. Once the goal is reached, a sumptuous lunch is waiting for the team thanks to F.I.S.H. (Fiesta Island Seafood Hub) which is within AZAYA Garden Resort.
